A traditional medicinal herb used for centuries for a huge variety of ailments. Not as well known, it is a host plant for butterflies as a rich nectar source. This Perennial has tall woody stems topped with lots of small star-shaped yellow flowers. The leaves are small ovals. Originally from Siberia, it has spread worldwide. The stems are creeping rhizomes. Can be considered invasive, so allow an area for it to establish itself. Used for healing wounds. Oil is produced using steam distillation as a topical for many skin ailments. This low-maintenance plant can do fine in poor soils with no irrigation. A cold period aids germination, so can direct sow in very early spring or in flats. A light-dependent seed, do not cover.

About our Seed Packets
We use simple thick Kraft paper envelopes and sealed plastic bags to protect seeds from light and moisture. They are shipped in bubble wrap envelopes for extra protection. Store them in a cool dry place in this packaging for an extended shelf life.
