This ancient landrace variety originated with the Zapotec Indians of Mexico. It is a very productive semi determinate vine that grows well in the greenhouse or outside. The deep red 2-3 inch long fruit is oval shaped with a pointed bottom. Traditionally used in cooked preparations, it is also delicious fresh. The texture is meaty and dry, the flavour is vivid and rich. Our thanks to J.L. Hudson, Seedsman, a Public access seed bank, for sharing this seed with us, many years ago, while there was still open access to these rare and endangered seeds from Mexico. This packet is 10 seeds.

About our Seed Packets
We use simple thick Kraft paper envelopes and sealed plastic bags to protect seeds from light and moisture. They are shipped in bubble wrap envelopes for extra protection. Store them in a cool dry place in this packaging for an extended shelf life.
