This tender perennial belongs to the Borage family. Highly ornamental, the leaves and stems are covered with small hairs. The flower stocks grow to 4 feet tall. They are smothered with small star-shaped sapphire blue flowers. They start to bloom in late spring and last for weeks. Loved by bees and beneficial insects. Loves full sun and damp conditions, but adapts to drier spots once established. Start in early spring, sow in small pots 1/4 inch deep and place in a warm location.
