This extremely rare Hungarian family heirloom was gifted to us 12 years ago to protect. Maria’s family brought this seed with them to Canada. Before she passed on, she made sure to pass this seed to a trusted friend’s hand, so it would not be lost. There was no name given, so we have named it in honour of her. Classed as a paste fruit with a beautiful oval shape, tender skins, bright pink/red skin and flesh. The flavour is rich and refreshing, ideal for salad, bruschetta and sauce making. The plants have rugose foliage which has much thinner leaf margins and cover. Expect very good full season production. Grows to 4 feet tall outside and over 6 feet in the greenhouse, so give good support. Ready in 75 days.
