Agrimonia eupatoria

This hardy member of the Rose family has many useful attributes. A long history of medicinal use dates back to the 5th century. The leaves stems and flowers are all used. The leaves make a refreshing tea. The small yellow flowers are long bloomers in summer and are also good for attracting beneficial insects. Other traditional uses  include treating skin disorders, wounds, digestive complaints, and urinary tract infections. Currently there is much scientific evidence supporting these traditional uses. The whole plant is highly antibacterial,  antimicrobial and antiviral. Easy to grow, takes drought and poor soils and loves a good sunny spot. The large 1/4 inch ball shaped seeds are covered in burrs so can easily be spread. To create a few nice specimens, deadhead or harvest your flowers before they produce seeds. Direct sow in spring or start in small pots, planting 1/4 inch deep. They are a slower germinator. Allow 2-3 feet between plants.
Seed packet is about 20 seeds.
