Teucrium scorodonia - This famous heirloom tea plant has been used traditionally in Scotland. A hardy perennial, forms dense 2-3 foot bushes of small soft green leaves topped with long narrow stems of small pale yellow flowers, which are adored by bees. Thrives on hillsides and open or marginal areas, with very little water. The leaves, once dried, have an intoxicating scent, clean and fresh. Harvest just as the blossoms are going to open. The tea is a delicious healthy tonic and helps fight colds. Easy from seed, can start indoors in early or late spring, the small seed is covered lightly. Transplants easily.
