This annual poppy is a Salt Spring heirloom variety, growing here since the 1930’s. There can be some slight variation to a light mauve colour. Stems and leaves are blue/green and reach a height of 3 feet. The flowers are long lasting and will self- seed once established. We have been contacted by poppy specialists who consider this variety to be a unique and uncommon variety that has not been identified. Our thanks to Tamar Griggs who shared this seed with us over 10 years ago and her Mom for bringing the original seeds to our island. Direct sow in fall or very early spring and barely cover.

About our Seed Packets
We use simple thick Kraft paper envelopes and sealed plastic bags to protect seeds from light and moisture. They are shipped in bubble wrap envelopes for extra protection. Store them in a cool dry place in this packaging for an extended shelf life.
