Origanum vulgare hirtum - This very hardy perennial culinary herb, is the authentic variety with soft green oval leaves on woody stems topped with a cluster of tiny white flowers in summer. Use fresh or dried, collect just as plant starts to flower for drying purposes. An excellent companion plant to grow with tomatoes and much loved by bees. Very tiny seed, start in early spring, indoors, and lightly cover. Germinates quickly in a warm location and transplants easily.
