Borage officinalis is a famous bee plant, well-loved for its edible flowers. It is stunning to watch how the Bees swarm them! Classed as an annual, once established, can self-sow readily. It is easy to maintain and control, so not invasive in a bad way.
The leaves are a prized medicinal, used for generations. Gather the leaves on a dry day, just before the plants are in full bloom. Dried leaves can be made into an infusion or steeped for 10 minutes. This tea is a huge support for the adrenal glands and is gentle in action. Also a good general tonic, an anti-inflammatory, and good support drink during convalescence.
Borage enhances the soil where it grows by releasing calcium and potassium. Great companion for tomatoes. The flavour and scent is similar to cucumbers. Large seeds are easy to direct sow in spring or in fall in warmer climate zones. Cover lightly. Thrives in sunny locations with little care. This is a packet of about 15 seeds.

About our Seed Packets
We use simple thick Kraft paper envelopes and sealed plastic bags to protect seeds from light and moisture. They are shipped in bubble wrap envelopes for extra protection. Store them in a cool dry place in this packaging for an extended shelf life.
